About Us

At Heritage School of Midwifery, we are dedicated to upholding the traditions of midwifery while embracing the latest innovations in the field. Our experienced faculty and comprehensive curriculum ensure that our students receive the best education possible, setting them on the path to becoming compassionate and skilled midwives. Join us on this incredible journey of learning, growth, and empowerment.

Our Mission
Guiding Principles
Our mission at Heritage School of Midwifery is to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become competent and caring midwives. We aim to instill a deep respect for birth, promote evidence-based practices, and nurture a commitment to supporting women and families throughout their birthing journey. HSM will preserve the art and science of quality midwifery care and secure ongoing access to excellent maternity care by educating future midwives and cast the vision for passing along this wealth of wisdom from generation to generation. Our success will be measured by seeing the number of midwives in Florida grow as our students reach their full potential and graduate and become licensed.
Quality Education
Comprehensive Curriculum
HSM’s robust 3-year midwifery program includes traditional classes and hands-on experience. Students will observe and eventually assist a Florida Licensed Midwife with prenatal, birth, and postpartum care. Upon completing the Midwifery Course, students will receive a diploma and are qualified to become a Florida Licensed Midwife (LM) and a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) by taking and passing an exam administered by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).
Empowering Community
Building Support Networks
We believe in creating a strong community of midwifery students and professionals who support and uplift each other. Our programs encourage collaboration, mentorship, and advocacy, fostering a network of passionate birth advocates committed to improving maternal and infant health outcomes. Students build lasting connections through peer learning, faculty engagement, and shared clinical experiences. This supportive environment empowers graduates to enter the field with confidence, purpose, and a sense of belonging.
Hands-On Training & Hybrid Learning Environment
Real-World Experience
Practical training is an essential part of our midwifery programs. Students have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world settings, working alongside experienced midwives and healthcare professionals to gain valuable hands-on experience. To support flexibility and accessibility, all didactic (non-hands-on) coursework is offered asynchronously online, allowing students to engage with lectures, readings, and assignments on their own schedule.
Holistic Approach
Mind-Body-Spirit Care
We emphasize a holistic approach to midwifery care, recognizing the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and spirit. Our students learn to provide comprehensive care that respects the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of mothers and babies. This philosophy is woven throughout our curriculum, shaping both clinical practice and classroom learning. Graduates are prepared to support diverse birthing individuals with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based care.
